Our Delivery Models

When it comes to legacy migration projects, some companies may want to tackle the project themselves, while others may want to outsource as much of the work as possible. Regardless of your preferred approach, Speedware has project models designed to provide you with what you need to succeed.

Speedware's Professional Services group offers a variety of migration project models ranging from do-it-yourself models right up to fully outsourced projects. Customers can choose the model that best meets their needs, providing the right balance between budget and resource constraints. Below are descriptions of the various migration project models:

• Do-It-Yourself:
  For customers with a limited budget and/or the resources to do a modernization project, Speedware offers a cost-effective, do-it-yourself solution in which customers simply purchase the tools and training they need for their migration project. For customers in this situation, Speedware highly recommends adding the Quick Start Service, a combination of tools, onsite training and knowledge transfer that is geared towards empowering customers to conduct and manage their modernization projects. With this service, a Speedware consultant is onsite to demonstrate the physical migration of specific application and database components in the customer's environment. Training of migration procedures is provided to ensure a complete knowledge transfer.
  
  
• Migrate and Deliver:
  The Migrate and Deliver model leverages Speedware's expertise in code conversion, while still allowing customers to execute and manage their own project. Speedware migrates all of the customer's code then returns the converted code to the customer. The customer completes the modernization project using their own internal resources and is responsible for testing, remediation and addressing any integration issues.
  
  
• Migrate and Assist:
  This model is similar to the Migrate and Deliver model, but is based on the customer's specific needs. It provides additional, billable migration assistance for a variety of optional activities such as deployment assistance, integration support, project management, etc. Project ownership and accountability remain with the customer.
  
  
• Migrate and Empower:
  The Migrate and Empower choice is a flexible outsourcing model in which Speedware performs language, script, database and file migration in addition to migration support activities such as unit testing, documentation and knowledge transfer. Limited project management is included along with other variable options, depending upon the customer's requirements. While Speedware is accountable for code conversion, overall project accountability remains with the customer.
  
  
• Fully Outsourced:
  This is Speedware's comprehensive, end-to-end migration model, ideal for customers who want to outsource every aspect of their project and leverage Speedware's expertise and proven methodology. Speedware performs language, script, database and file migration as well as migration support activities such as integration, tuning, unit testing and fix support. Retrofits, release management, documentation and other delivery support activities are also included. Speedware is responsible for project management and retains accountability for the success of the project. A fully outsourced Speedware project maximizes the likelihood of a successful migration.
