Speedware Completes $3 Million Modernization Project for Televised Retailer
Montreal, Quebec (August 28, 2007) -- Speedware Ltd., a subsidiary of Activant Solutions Inc. and a leading provider of legacy modernization software solutions, including business intelligence and productivity tools, today announced it has successfully completed a project to provide legacy modernization technologies and services to a leading televised retailer. The revenue recognized from this contract over its term was over $3 million and was based on the sale of licenses and the provision of support and consulting services.
Speedware offers comprehensive modernization technologies and services designed to protect companies’ IT investments and enable business continuity as they move toward newer computing platforms. The televised retailer is a global organization with multiple operation centers located in North America, Europe and Asia. They required rapid implementation of a low risk solution and awarded the contract to Speedware in 2006. The successful implementation of the modernization solution took 16 months and involved a phased approach meant to lessen risk of any business interruption and ensure on-time completion.
"Our greatest challenge in this project was the tight time frame. The customer’s operations were approaching maximum capacity and they were anticipating a large spike in volume in the near future.
